Omniarole offline: a desktop app is in development
Mary · October 14, 2026 · 3 min read

We are developing an offline desktop version of Omniarole for Windows and Mac. Our goal remains the same: make world-building and running tabletop RPGs as simple and accessible as possible, while giving you more choice in how you use the platform.
More choice for your worlds and campaigns
We know that some users prefer to work without an internet connection, and others would rather make a one-time purchase than subscribe to unlock advanced features. Although we are committed to keeping our subscriptions affordable, we want to offer an option for those preferences too. The online platform is available for free, and we are working to bring that experience to your desktop so you can use your world-building and campaign tools locally.
A lifetime license with one year of updates
The desktop app will be available through a one-time purchase of a lifetime license, with one year of updates included. The license is perpetual: the included year refers to updates, not to how long you can use the app. You will not need a recurring subscription to use the desktop version.
The same platform, with offline features
The desktop app will mirror the tools and experience of the online platform, except for modules that depend on an internet connection. Community features, initiative tracker synchronization with players, shared player sheets, and other connected features will be excluded from the offline version. The aim is to bring the familiar Omniarole experience to your own computer, with these connectivity limits made clear.
After Early Access, with a simpler migration
The desktop app will not be released before the end of Early Access. We will also provide a tool to export the data saved in your online account and import it onto your local device. If you decide to move from the online platform to the offline app, this will help you transfer your existing work quickly and continue building your worlds and preparing sessions without starting over.
